This is the first time I've actually known the date in... weeks.

OH WOWOWOW. It has been awhile and so much has happened! Nothing huge really. But! So, school ended. I went to girls camp for a couple days. And guess what? I started scout camp at Meriwether last Friday :) it's sooo much fun. For those of you that are confused, I'm home right now (shh don't tell anyone) because I had some drivers ed classes to make up. I'll be back at camp tomorrow afternoon. Anyways, camp isn't going to be as bad as I thought haha. There are a lot of really fun people, and honestly not as many creepers as I thought there would be! Everyone is super friendly and welcoming and funny, and every single conversation I have with someone is really interesting because basically all of the staff are super unique. Like, for example, yesterday we were practicing teaching methods so everyone got up and taught the group about something (anything) that they know well. I learned about how a steam engine works, how to make an igloo, and how to successfully execute a Ponzi scheme (which included starting in Norway selling sheeps hooves, and ending up in Venezuela rolling in your millions.) And there are so many staff inside jokes it's ridiculous. I've only been there like three days and I've caught on to basically all of them (purple/red drank, goshdangit John Ogle, the Ogle scale, the fact that the Nature Staff is never actually in the Nature Center, Yazik, Chief Kilchis, beauty pageants, the ten finger game, gilly suits, "management," Don "Action" Jackson, etc.) Life is rough, clearly. So this week is Staff Week, in which we get the camp ready for the season. Nature (which is where I'm working) basically has nothing to get ready... we did everything on Saturday. And we have a whole week left haha. All we have to do is training and lesson plans... Speaking of which, I should be finishing my lesson plans so I can just screw around the rest of the week. Nothing else to report really. Being back home in Portland after only like three or four days of being away, I'm actually kind of glad I'm getting away for the summer. That totally sucks for people that have to stay here like EVERY OTHER SUMMER of their lives. I don't care if you have a job or not, Beaverton/Hillsboro/Rock Creek will never be that exciting haha. Yesterday one kid was commenting about how working at Meriwether is basically like getting paid to play at the beach every single day of the entire summer... it's really true. Things are lookin pretty good at this point :)
