The most insane year of my life has come to an end... Let's review.

What did you do in 2009 that you had never done before? Tons. I drove for the first time in my life (got my permit in January, license in August.) Got my first two jobs (first at Meriwether, second at POA.) Applied to college. Got accepted to college. Kind of just the big things, but those are the ones that stand out.

Did you keep any new year's resolutions? Ummm absolutely not. I don't think I ever have. Has anyone, really?

Will you make more for next year, too? I kind of want to, but I've never been one for the conformist holiday goal-making thing... haha. In that case, I probably will.

What would you like in 2010 that you lacked in 2009? I want to make decisions for me, not because it's what everyone is doing, or because it's what my family is doing, or because it's what my friends are doing.

What specific dates in 2009 will stick out in your memory? Ummm June 18, because it was the day that I left for camp... August 24 because it was the day that camp ended. Those are really the only dates that stick out other than obvious ones like my birthday.

What was your biggest achievement of the year? Definitely getting accepted to college. That's kind of a big deal. And I barely even tried, too :)

What was your biggest failure? Holding on to something for too long, something that (in the long run) made me a stronger person, but definitely held me back from being happy and living my life for a long, long, long time.

Did you suffer illness or injury? The worst illness was definitely the strep throat / pinkeye combo I got over the summer... dang scouts!

Where did most of your money go? Uhhhhmmmmm I didn't really spend my money on anything huge this year. Heck, I never spend my money on anything huge.

What song will always remind you of 2009? Oh geez, there's too many songs > albums > artists that I've discovered and fallen in love with this year. Too many to even start to think about, much less name them and choose ONE favorite.

Compared to this time last year, are you: a) happier or sadder? b) thinner or fatter? c) richer or poorer? A) Just different. B) Fatter, I think. C) Richer, but not really, because it's all going towards college anyways.

What do you wish you’d done more of? Letting go. Reaching out. Being proactive. Jumping.

What was your favorite TV program? I loved American Idol earlier in the year, and I always love watching the Blazers games. Not that that's really a program or show or anything, but it's on TV. It counts.

Did any friendships drastically change? Absolutely. I lost a lot, but gained many, many, many more!

What did you want and get? Jobs, money, acceptance to college. Again, kinda the big things, but that's what comes to mind.

What did you want and not get? Well-paying jobs. A job that makes me happy (excluding scout camp). To be the awesomest staffer at scout camp haha.

What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? I turned 18 this year... What did I do for my birthday...? I totally don't even remember... I think I did nothing. I think I went to someone else's birthday on my birthday... again. Oh, how I love having a September birthday.

What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? Having an awesomely awesome job that I look forward to and enjoy. It would be cool if I even got paid more, but that's not necessary. One or the other works for me.

What kept you sane? New friends, new experiences and music.

Who/what did you miss? At this exact moment in time? Not a single thing/person. Everything/everyone that was previously in my life, but is gone now, is gone for a reason.

Who was the best new person you met? Ohhhh way too many people, this summer was a whirlwind of new people. Timmy, Jacob, Chris, Blake, Erik... just to name a few. I could go on and on forever naming all the awesome staff and random scouts my age that I met and became, like, immediately friends with. So many new people this summer. Amazingness.

Valuable life lesson from 2009?

This picture sums up my year.
The sun breaking through enough to not only be able to see the light, but the individual rays from the sun. Whatever is blocking the light must be formidable or frightening, but it's not. They're just trees :)
