This week is kind of a relief. The work weekend is over, the weather is marginally gorgeous, the ACT, SAT, and AP tests are one hundred percent over for the rest of my life, and there's only about 23 days until school is out for the summer. It's like the beginning of the end of the school year now, and I fully expect it to come sooner than I even realize. I wish that I could blink my eyes and it would be 2:30 on June 12, and I was walking out the front door of the school into complete freedom... And then I wish that the week after that would just stretch out forever, and June 18 would never come. Ever. But right now it's still the middle of May, and much to my disappointment, time seems to be moving at the same speed that it always has been. Sigh.
The window behind me is open, and I can hear faint rain falling on the roof, on the streets, in the trees. If there is such thing as a favorite smell, mine is the smell of rain after sun.
