obligatory valentine's day post

I'm spending Valentine's Day in the most single way possible: sitting around in sweatpants, eating Bagel Bites and ice cream, watching the NBA All-Star game with my parents and dogs. I'm blaming it on the fact that it's Sunday, and crossing my fingers that if it wasn't Sunday, it would have been a much more exciting day.

This is what my life has been like in the week since I've posted:
  • Me and the parents went for a hike yesterday on the Banks-Vernonia trail. I would have thought I'd be able to feel the 8 miles a lot more, but I only sort of feel it. And actually, after a lunch break, I could have gone for more. Seriously, though, hiking is like my number one way to spend weekends. If someone would go hiking with me every single Saturday, I would be a happy camper. And probably a lot more sane!
  • I don't know if I've mentioned this, but my school schedule is like the easiest ever (I'm taking all of five classes total.) And I only work about two hours every day. Conclusion: I need something more to do with my time. I should, in reality, get a different job with more hours and therefore more money. But I'm pretty sure I'm too lazy to do that, and I'm comfortable with my job now. So I'm thinking, some kind of volunteer thing. A humane society would be awesome. I also know of a nature preserve that's sort of far away that has tons of volunteer opportunities. I would almost prefer that one. I think I'll even look into it!
  • The other day Mom got me some artsy fartsy magazines from the library. In one of them was this project idea using what they called "self affirmations." Some of the ones they used were things like, "Surround yourself with good people," and "Let it go," and "Quiet the inner critic," etc. I've been thinking about it off and on since then, trying to come up with some self affirmations of my own so I can make a similar project while simultaneously "finding myself." (I apologize for the cliche-ness.) But I have yet to actually come up with many. If any of you have self-affirmations, please post them to help me out!
Well, that is all for now. East won the All-Star game, in case you were wondering. No school or work tomorrow, and I have nothing to do whatsoever. Ohhhh please.
